2. Blended Learning and Flipped Classroom
About this course
In the second Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) of asynchronous distance education, the basics of the student-centered models of Blended Learning and the Flipped Classroom are presented, as well as how they are applied in the European Erasmus+ KA2 "CONNECT" Program.
The development of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and the integration of digital tools in the school environment offer numerous opportunities and challenges in educational planning and pedagogical management of learning based on the models.
- Section 1 (General) provides an overview of blended learning and flipped classroom models.
- Section 2 outlines the essential elements of the blended learning model, which combines the benefits of face-to-face classroom instruction with asynchronous online learning.
- Section 3 defines the flipped classroom as a modern pedagogical approach, which combines the use of instructional video or other online activities with the use of digital tools for learning outside the classroom with face-to-face activities in the classroom.
The previous sections provide a detailed literature and research review of implemented practices of blended learning and flipped classroom in Secondary Education.

• Familiarity with the pedagogic framework of "CONNECT".
• Familiarity with the use and exploitation of digital tools.
Assessment
Participation in the reflection and feedback Self-assessment quizzes on the blended learning and flipped classroom study material.
